Alexa Brabec started skiing at just 2 years old and quickly fell in love with the sport. She tested her hand in a number of ski disciplines including freestyle and moguls, before landing on nordic combined. To this day, she still loves to get out there on powder days and test her hand at all the different ski disciplines.
Alexa was a member of the first team of women to represent the United States in Nordic Combined at the first World Cup and World Championship event for Women’s Nordic Combined. She also competed in the debut event for Women’s Nordic Combined at the 2020 Youth Olympics.
Outside of skiing, Brabec is a huge soccer fan and loves almost everything outdoors. Growing up, her weekends were split between soccer games and adventuring in the outdoors with her family. Some of her favorite outdoor activities include canyoneering, rafting, and mountain biking, especially with her family.
Brabec’s best World Cup finish came during the 2023/24 season, as she placed 10th overall in the Hs106/5km World Cup in Seefeld, Austria. Brabec was then able to record a new Continental Cup personal best during the 2023/24 season, finishing 2nd in the HS109/5km Continental Cup in Eisenerz, Austria.
At the 2024 FIS Nordic Junior World Ski Championships, Brabec placed 2nd overall in the HS102/5km event, bringing home the first-ever medal in Women’s Nordic Combined for the United States at Junior World Championships. Then a day later Brabec teamed up with Kai McKinnon in the Women’s Team Sprint to bring home her second silver medal which was also the first-ever medal in a Women’s Nordic Combined team event at Junior Worlds for the United States.
