Ford Sayre

Proficient downhill skiers are invited to Monday and Wednesday night practices (6:00 – 7:30) free of charge to try the sport. Kids begin by skiing down our smallest landing hill using their own alpine skis and boots. When ready, they start just a few feet above the takeoff, plop off the end (about the height of two hay bales) and ski down the landing hill. Kids progress at their own pace with close instruction and encouragement from Olympic athletes Mike and Joe Holland. The Ford Sayre ski jumping club has a large inventory of ski jumping skis and boots for enthusiastic kids who join the program.

Train alongside one of the top High School jumping teams in the state. Nordic Jumping allows skiers to develop the skills and confidence necessary for safe and enjoyable ski jumping. Skiers progress from small to larger jumps, advancing at their own pace. Beginning jumpers may use their alpine skis, eventually transitioning to jumping skis. An agreement with Lebanon Outing Club allows new jumpers to start on their smallest jump (5 meter) and move to their 50-meter hill after your jumper has progressed past the Ford Sayre 32 meter jump. Jumping skis and boots are available for use at no added cost. Helmets are mandatory. Parent help on the hills is much needed and appreciated, especially after snowstorms.
